Iraq was not the only reason. The exit polls showed voter motivation to be divided among four issues:

Iraq, the economy, terrorism and pork.

The economy is doing well. Those who voted mainly on terrorism weren't exactly a big component of the Dems win. Pork had an effect. Iraq was the decisive issue.
