You asked for an example, I gave you one. He didn't blow himself up, but he did commit suicide - he must have known he wouldn't survive (in fact, I believe he left letters to that effect).

Note that in the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, many more Palestinians have died. That's because the Israelis are better armed, trained, and supplied. They don't need to use suicide bombing tactics; as we saw the other day, they got better equipment (even if their aim is 1500 yards off).

<But note that there is a difference between a terrorist and a suicide bomber. Terrorists attempt to gain by terrorizing their opponents. By that definition, even the right has a lot of terrorists. Suiciders include those targeting legitimate military targets, like the Kamikazis. So, one does not necessarily imply the other.>

As far as Israel, remember that before the suicide bombers, there were the rock throwers. Remember how Israel dealt with them? When they caught them, they smashed and broke their hands. Then, they found where they lived, and demolished their houses. They threw thousands in jail in deplorable conditions, many times without evidence or trial.

Both sides are guilty, and both are dominated by their extreme elements. In a way, you could say they deserve each other, but when it spills out into the rest of the world, we need to take action.

We must not allow ourselves to be drawn into the tic-for-tac game of the extremists. The stakes are just too high.
