CJ, in the Democratic primary for CA governor, Angelides was the more liberal of the two candidates. The other, Steve Westly, was seen as more moderate and better able to take on (R)nold.

Of course, the Democratic base in California went with who the public employee unions endorsed, not to mention the one who received most of the support from the DNP. The point is that if (R)nold is a "Democrat," then Angelides is a card-carrying socialist.
