Hot, you could be right about turkeys, since progress at CMM based on recent history hasn't been as good as promised. However, some people who are stars at operations in the background can "appear to be" turkeys when first asked to speak in front of a microphone. I'm willing to be patient for a bit longer, in spite of recent delays and "stage fright".

Is it possible that English was a second language for that guy and he was struggling? Or perhaps he was intimidated because he reads boards like this and knows the shareholder are just lying in wait to eviscerate anything CMM! <ggg>

I could care less if some mine manager is a good public speaker, as long as he knows how to kick butt and get the workers to do their jobs! Let's not make decisions on competence on the important parts of running a mine on form, not substance.

Actually I see no evidence that the team at Sigma isn't top notch. What can you offer to suggest otherwise? The screw up with the trucks is not the fault of the team; the vendor didn't deliver as promised. {We could debate endlessly the timing of the PR...} Yet in spite the waste problems in the pit, the "team" has still been getting 95% to 96% recoveries out of the ore it is milling and THAT sounds like good operations to me.

What am I missing?
