I think a lot of people voting today were just born during Vietnam or were just children. Us older folks remember what a bloody, expensive seemingly neverending blunder it was, but the jingoistic war mongers has been building a myth that we would have "won" if we'd only hung in a few more years.

I'm sure they'll do the same thing with Iraq.
