I don't know what being Republican might mean to some....a Goldwater Republican is very different than a GWB Republican, if the priorities and proposed actions of the two groups are examined. I think the last few days is showing that the republicans of today may be reexamining some of the really indefensible stuff they have done (spending, lack of discipline leading to scandal) and widely unpopular (involvement in private family medical decisions) and considering that purple america wants something different. That will be a good move for the party, if done, and would go a long way to regaining my support.
