re: Iran wants a genocidal war

----------

... curiouser and curiouser, as we plunge down the rabbit hole...

... as I understand history, Iran hasn't attacked a neighbor for over 3 centuries.

... and to my understanding, Iran's leadership has nothing against Jews.

Ahmadinejad, I suspect, would happily break bread - and live side by side - with numerous, specifically orthodox Jews, who are represented by, among others:

jewsagainstzionism.com
nkusa.org
jewsnotzionists.org

... who are ready, willing and perhaps anxious to live side by side with Arabs and Muslims in a shared state and within shared communities -- as was historically the case prior to jiggling the chess pieces after WW2.

It's rather interesting, as upon further research ---- from a literal interpretation of the Torah ---- Zionism (the creation and maintenance of Israel) - is heresy and horrific blasphemy against the Torah and the One True G_d -- whose name shall not be spoken.

So, by all appearances -- what Ahmadinejad, the majority of the Muslim civilization, and a number of orthodox Jewish sects loathe, is an expansionist, exclusivist, militant, militarist Zionist entity who is also blaspheming the One True G_d.

Of course, AIPAC - the Zionist arm in the US - is busily fabricating the equation of anti-Zionism and anti-Semitism, in order to further craven political goals.

... which is rather sad, distorting, and most destructive.

... perhaps Israel would not perceive a pre-emptive attack against Iran as a war crime ----- then again, they're presently rather distracted with the wholesale decimation of a civilian population and culture.

The press keeps pounding away with the statement that the nominal head of Iran calls for the destruction of the state of Israel.
Nobody listens to the Iranian speakers who say he was mistranslated and actually called for the elimination of the present regime in Israel, not the destruction of the state. As for his so called desire to destroy all the Jews, there has been a Jewish community in Iran for the last 2000 years. They are still around. Undestroyed. I am certainly not asserting that Iran is some kind of democracy. As an atheist I'd land in jail for sure if I went there and opened my mouth too wide. Just that things are not as bad as it is claimed.
If Bush had collaborated with Iran against their common enemy, Saddam, the war in Iraq would have gone smoothly.
