Ford's qualifications are he's a helluva political campaigner, extremely skilled and credible and almost got the leadership position away from Pelosi. He was also Kerry's co-chair so he's experienced at national campaigns. He's a moderate Christian acceptable to white voters. He's also a swinger. In other words he can swing with Jesus or with babes. I guess he gave up his seat in the house (too bad) but if he's available, he clearly should be given a top job in the Dem party. One thing to remember, dems won this time partly because of a big boost from young voters. Young voters went strongly for Dems. So why not promote some younger faces like Ford's to leadership positions? Also a higher percentage of the new generation of voters are people of color. America is becoming more and more like Tiger Woods and derek Jeter less and less like Arnold Palmer and Mickey Mantle. Know what I mean?
