But let's suppose, just for the sake of argument that a recession here makes other countries look like a better bet.

Which countries, pray tell, would those be?

And how can a country representing 30% of the global economy (the US) going into recession not impact the growth potential for the other some 160+ nations representing the other 70%?

I frankly don't know where they could put their money, other than in the US.

Because in China's case, a recession in the US is going to equate to a deathly case of economic pneumonia. Especially when some 200 million chinese jobs directly depend upon US trade.
