I'd take anything seen on the Discovery channel with a grain of salt. They are in the entertainment business. The information in genes is in the code, the sequence of bases. How genes code for protein assembly is very well understood. How proteins assume their shape, on the basis of their amino acid sequence, is also well understood, to the extent that computer programs can predict protein folding. The activity and function of proteins is closely related to their shape. Don't fall for gobbledegook about a "thinking universe".
