John you and other Democrats will have to get past blaming the Bush Administration, you have been repeating this mantra and it really wont matter as the years go by. Americans want a solution, the Democrats were elected with the hope they would find one. Bush is not running for reelection. Two years from now having the Democrats in charge of Congress for two years and still blaming Bush wont go very far if conditions are not improved substantially.

Its pretty clear to most everyone that many mistakes were made. One has to wonder if where we are was inevitable. In any event the previous administration had a regime change policy in Iraq, Congress voted to take Saddam out. History will judge all of our leaders, but this offers no ideas on where to go from here.

Of course the Iraqi's are the most responsible for where we are today. They have been given an opportunity, but between Iran and AQ exploiting their animosity we have Iraq today.

How many news articles have you seen with comments about small amounts of oil coming off the market and oil prices rising rapidly.

Global supply and demand is very closely matched. Most experts believe it will stay this way for the foreseeable future. True OPEC is for the first time in a few years reducing production slightly. But this is a short term effort. In the future it will be like it has been since oil rise from $20 to $60+. Producers at full throttle and prices rise to satisfy demand.

I suspect many of the elected officials are very aware of this. From both parties they are derelict for not explaining it.

Most of us have been around these boards for years. I hope I wont be telling you I told you so in a year or two. Most Americans are ignorant about energy issues. Leaving Iraq in a condition that allows it to stop oil production would be a very painful lesson.
