"Unfortunately, either Murtha or Hoyer will likely be our next Majority Leader."

Which is why we should complain loud and often. Unlike may Republicans, neither is indictably corrupt, but the earmarking has got to stop. The Dems are promising to do that, but they need to do more than promise.

I'd love to see them make Ted Kennedy majority leader. Bush would understand the gesture..

Unfortunately, either Murtha or Hoyer will likely be our next Majority Leader. I've never liked Hoyer, and both are too conservative. I guess they're corrupt, too. I just haven't heard of any other candidates.

Murtha isn't corrupt. He had a weak moment and then stopped it. We all have moments like those at some point during our lives. Corrupt is doing it without thinking twice and when criticized, blowing it off. Corrupt is Delay.

As for being too conservative......that is now one wing of the Dem. party. If this coalition is to work, we all have to respect that new wing. I really think its going to have to come down to a state nuance. Those states that are pro abortion will allow abortions. Those states that are anti will be anti. After the S. Dakota decisive election, however, I don't think this will be as big an issue as before. What will be a big deal is gay marriage. That one should keep the little minds of the radical right busy for the next decade.
