Base metal prices may have peaked (e.g. Cu) or be close (e.g. Ni) but that doesn't mean that the mining stocks have peaked. Also I think it's very hard to argue that zinc, for example, has peaked. In the long run there is no doubt that metal prices will fall to the marginal cost of production, but the big question is how long will that take.

in an effort to keep it simple - and it's worked well for me so far - I refuse to go bearish on metals until I see inventory levels rise.
