Bush will NEVER allow the Dems to make policy decisions for him; he would sooner step down and hand the resins of the country to Cheney. the reality is, the Dems won control of nothing, they just picked up seats which cant muster a majority to over ride a veto.

"If George Bush never allows the Democrats a chance to prove they are wrong, they will win the next election. Letting them make a very tricky decision, where no matter what choice they make it will be wrong is only good sportsmanship. There is no right decision about lebanon" Make them expose their flank by taking a few positions. If he offers them the chance to come out with their opinions first and they wimp out a few times, voters will perceive democrats to be wimps.
