The plot thickens. The institutional holders report changed a great deal since Nov. 12. Now the sum of all institutions with a 9/30/2006 report date is 574 MM, or 25 MM shares greater than the total outstanding (549MM).
That doesn't make any allowance for the 24MM shares still unaccounted for in 6/30/2006 stale reports.
And I suppose all the shares in retail broker accounts are figments of a deranged imagination.
