Newt didn't make his point well. It wasn't about Rumsfeld-though the next moves against subhuman Islam are due and payable, and Rumsfeld isn't the guy for THAT dirty work. And the Dems will be "moderate" until they find out they can't hold power long term, then revert to their natural state. (A few necessary things could get done in the meantime, but that's another discussion.) A heavy turnout by a psyched up Christian and economic conservative base would have made it a different election night. Thus, once again, the hazards of refusing to impose TERM LIMITS. After all, what Republican party did you see this cycle? 1) 82-year-old Ted Stevens tumbles out of nowhere to drool on a microphone and show crazed lividity-as can only be shown by a senile old fool-that someone has stepped on his top project: Robbing the people to build a pork-bridge to nowhere. THAT's a Spirit of '94 Republican? 2) Cow-eyed Chuck Grassley, after crying and blowing snot bubbles against even the INADEQUATE tax cut for the Investor Class, citing the "mountains of debt" being left to our "children", gets caught trying to fund a jungle in Iowa. THAT's a Spirit of '94 Republican? 3) Mentally-ill George Voinocvich BAWLS like GRANDMOTHER over his president's UN ambassador nomination. THAT's a Spirit of '94 Republican? 4) The greatest political strategist since Sam Rayburn-who almost single-handedly destroyed the domestic enemy in the wake of their Clinton disaster-has his president MEDDLE in a state primary where we FINALLY got rid of Arlen Specter, and allow the SOB to survive. Then he backs Lincoln Chaffey and stabs Katherine Harris in the back. Welcome to the New Rockefeller/Ford/Dole Republican party. And like the original one, they got their ASS kicked on election night...
