Bushies have ruined the GOP, as I've been warning. Now that everyone sees the Emperor has no clothes, all bets are off. Why would anyone in their right mind support Bush-Cheney any longer? It just took the big loss in the election to wake and shake conservatives and Repubs awake again after a 5 year avoidance of reality. Rove's entire scheme was to suspend reality the way a conjuring magician does, to make it look like democrats were weak, traitors, cowards, elitists, gay, old-fashioned, etc. and that Bush-Cheney and Co. were taking the "wonderful" Reagan myth to a whole new level. Wel, yes they did take myth-making to a whole new level, but it had nothing to do with the reality on the ground, either in the USA or Iraq or anywhere else. So reality has finally caught up to them and it's crushing. Illusions shattered. Like a hall of mirror besieged by sustain machine-gun fire. The illusions are over and there's not much left - of substance anyway - except shame and regret.
