Wrong, I care very little about gay rights since I'm not gay and am not for gay marriage. That's not the issue. The issue is the rightwing's dishonest use of homophobia to demonize a sub-group of people to mobilize an Army of ignorant voters to vote for a dishonest party line and economics policies which are actually against their own self-interest and those of the country as a whole. No one has been hurt more by Bushie economics than the lower middleclass, which makes up the majority of the mega-church crowd. The issue is also that many of these same homophobia ranters are secretly gay themselves. Many of them. A lot more than just Haggard. Rove himself is probably gay, as is Ken Mehlman head of the RNC. Jim Bakker was gay. Jimmy Swaggard was a whore-monger. Bill Bennett a gambling addict. Rush Limbaugh a drug additc who flies to the DOminican Republic for sex with young prostitutes (of which sex we don't know). Foley gets put in charge of protecting kids from sexual predators and Hastert (who has two gay roommates) sticks up for him. On and on.
