"...forced to do whatever is in their capacity to correct any harm caused or wrong done to the other person and to the community. Restitution." How can harm to one's reputation be restored? An accusation of rape or child crimes tarnishes a person for life. Once charges are filed, that arrest is part of a person's permanent police record, regardless of the disposition of the case. I'm reminded of those Duke lacrosse team members. They will never be able to get a security clearance or work in some careers simply because of the charges brought against them.
