I guess this refers back to my earlier post about a malware problem. Thanks for trying to help. My PC with the problem runs Win 98SE so this solution would not work. In any case the PC has since had a critical windows file deleted or corrupted, so now Windows wont boot. I plan on reinstalling. I hesitate to reinstall Win 98 because MS no longer supports it (and the firewall I used no longer provides updates for it) but its paid for, and some programs I have for that PC might not run on a newer PC. I could also buy a newer operating system, or just a new cheap computer. The PC in question is very slow (650mhz Duron/GeForce 2MX video card). Even if does have adequate RAM (512MB) and hard drive space (100GB).
