To me, it's up to the parents to motivate their kids.

I am not sure how a parent can motivate their kid so I can't really address that part of it.

I understand if you have to make your coursework interesting for your attention-deficient students, but if some of them just doesn't want to even be there in the first place, what can you do?

You make the coursework as interesting as possible I guess.
