It's hardly surprising.

The NYT is a preacher to the converted ( like some of the uber liberals around SI who treat it like a bible). Evidently its readership is uninterested in anything positive coming out of Iraq since it doesn't fit the playbook.

Or at least a tribute to the heroism of one of NY's sons isn't fit to print.

I must say that that omission even shocked me somewhat and I have a very low opinion of the NYT to begin with.
