I didn't realize that you had a problem with reading comprehension. You haven't to my knowledge exhibited it before.

"And they where not term limited." does not equal "Washington served more than two terms".

And obviously my position is not that he served more than two terms; as "Deciding to leave office after two terms is not the same as being required to leave by law, or passing a law requiring others leave", made clear.

The modern day profession of politicians in a democracy – brainwash common people for the sake of special interest

Not all politicians work for the people. The people elect them all. But many as we have seen in modern days, work for the special interest whether it is the oil companies, pharmaceutical companies or tobacco companies or labor unions. Look at the gold rush to hold public seats. It was interesting to note that CNN pundits analyzing every inch of happenings before the final days of the Nov 7 election became ecstatic in pointing out billions of dollars are being thrown at them for political advertisements. Where does all these money come from? You got it. Beyond stipulated funds from the Government – all come from special interest. A very miniscule amount does come from common people. The special interests hire these so called politicians through campaign contributions. They are required to deliver legislation and policies that favor the special interest group. Of course in the process they have to do everything to make common people understand they work for the ‘people’.

Some politicians (millionaires and billionaires) even spend their own millions and billions of dollars. They treat it as an enterprise – an investment with a definite expectation of large return on investment. The system is designed so that common people cannot run for congress unless they have huge backing of the ‘system’ or they are super rich.

Senator Hillary Clinton or President George Bush has little trouble in raising money. Others have difficulty is raising money. Look at who are these contributors. They expect Bush or Clinton to ‘deliver’ in return of the money they contribute. It is similar to venture capital funding. Investments flow in if the potential for return is good.

Look at the advertisement Republicans and Senator Corker ran against Harold Ford in Tennessee.

What would motivate any one to run that ad to get elected? Please note what conservatives taught our young children about politics? These ads were shown in general TV in prime time. Millions of children saw it. Think about it - what other than genuine profit motive would make any one run such an ad for two or three days. Where does the motivation to go so low come from? Yes, you got it - the millions and billions from the special interests. It is all about marketing.

Winning an election is that important? Then the common people have every right to ask – do we need these politicians at all?
