So what? The rich should pay more taxes. Despite the rightwing claim, it's BS that you can borrow and spend indefinitely. No, you have to tax too. And Bush let the rich off very easily. Trickle down doesn't really work. It widens the gap between rich and the middleclass. It's not fair. It's government for the rich by the rich, not for the people.

It's far too easy for the rich to make more money and use all kinds of tax loopholes. In fact Bush's tax code actually rewards idle rich people. The more idle you are the less you're taxed. Ordinary people who live paycheck to paycheck don't have any of those luxuries. They get the payroll taxes yanked out in advance.

CLinton and GHW Bush both raised taxes. It was necessary at the time because of the Reagan debt. What resulted was the best most sustainable economic boom since 1960m and budget surpluses.

Remember another thing, Bush's borrow and spend economy has driven the dollar way down. So your dollar ain't what it used to be. Under CLinton, the dollar was kind.

November 14, 2006 -- Three packages containing white powder were found yesterday in the mail by a worker at the Manhattan studios of liberal talk-radio station Air America, police said.

The employee made the find at the stations' headquarters at 641 Sixth Ave.

The three packages - one of which was addressed to on-air personality Al Franken - contained a powder-like substance, which proved to be harmless.

* IN Los Angeles, a man was charged yesterday with mailing more than a dozen letters containing white powder to Rep. Nancy Pelosi, Jon Stewart and other high-profile figures.

Chad Conrad Castagana, 39, appeared in U.S. District Court to face a two-count complaint of sending threats and sending hoaxes by mail.

Magistrate Judge Patrick Walsh ordered Castagana held without bail.
