It was a bigger "mandate" than Bush had in 2004. Tell yourself it doesn't mean anything at your peril. Americans are SICK of staying the course of the Bush admin, they couldn't vote HIM out, so they sent a message by giving the Dems congress. A lot of fairly decent Republicans were shown the door. They can thank Bush. If you pay attention, you can find lots of moderate Republicans on these threads that abandoned their own party this election to send that message, and even more independents.. All the Dems have to do to capitalize is be even halfway competent and not corrupt. The oversight they do should reveal the true horrors of the Bush admin., the stuff that HASN'T leaked out. If they do, '08 will be even more of what you just experienced.
