I keep hoping that someday you will read an entire post, and not just lock on to one phrase, usually an example, of that post and base your comments on the idea, not one tiny part of an idea.

I did and normally do read the whole post that I respond to. I responded to the core ideas of your posts.

"Ratings on missed votes" wasn't what my post was about, and it wasn't from your posts at all. It was one possible example I came up with of how your more general idea could be implemented. I find it to be a relatively useless idea, but I didn't portray it as your idea, or say it was the only possible item on any report card for members of congress or other politicians. I even went ahead and asked you about what criteria you could use.

It really seems like you are doing what you accuse me of doing. Locking in on one part (that I mentioned ratings on things like missed votes in two different posts) but ignoring the larger idea (that political criteria aren't objective, or at least mostly aren't, while non-political criteria are mostly not important).

I'm open to changing my mind if you can present some truly objective political criteria, or a few vital non-political criteria.

I'm also open to considering other new ideas that are different from our current system. I'm not locked in to the status quo, OTOH I don't want change just for changes sake.
