Saying someone is doing a good job when they are not is lying.

If you say they are doing a good job, and you think they are doing a lousy job then it is lying. If you say you think they are doing a good job on X, while ignoring the fact that they are doing a lousy job on Y, that isn't lying. Ignoring Y however could be part of "carrying water for" someone.

This kind of nuanced semantics does not serve you. You may think you are making a significant distinction but you are not. Someone who cheerleads another person when they know that person has some serious flaws is lying whether they choose to "ignore" those flaws or not. Everyone and their brother knew that Rummie had screwed up in Iraq; a quick look at the evening news could confirm that fact. However, some people chose to ignore the obvious and continued to sing his praises. Even at the end, ole Rummie sang his own praises........much to the amusement of most of the nation.

Like I said previously, you have a hard time reading between the lines.

You aren't even providing the lines, let alone anything between them. What specific quotes do you think were lies?

Sorry, I am not going to get quotes for you. Check out Rush's site if you doubt what I am saying.
