It's the No Shame party. Crimes and acts of moral turpitude are badges of honor for Democratic politicians.

Ted Kennedy - manslaughter (at least), drunk driver, leaving the scene, delayed reporting of a fatal accident

Bill Clinton - serial adulterer, perjurer

Barney Frank - live-in gay prostitute

Gerry Studds - defiant child molester

Alcee Hastings - bribery, perjury, obstruction of justice

Nancy Pelosi - employer of illegal aliens

Robert Byrd - KKK recruiter

I could go on and on. The point isn't that only Democrats can do things like this. It's that only Democrats can do things like this and still enjoy the party's support and go on to long careers as "respected statesmen".

Democrats think they will be perceived as leading the charge against corruption by appointing a man who wanted to take bribes to be a committee chairman. Democrats think they will be perceived as leading the charge against corruption by appointing a man who was convicted of being corrupt while a federal judge to be a committee chairman.
