It was obvious that there were no, or negligible WMDs in Iraq, so the basis for the war was false. Blaming Republicans, and Democrats who went along isn't really enough. It was Americans who voted for them and were gung ho for the war against Saddam. So they have only themselves to blame. Something like 70% were in favour of the war. Those in favour are those who made the bad decision to make progress in the PNAC programme instead of redeveloping the UN into a NewUN to handle such matters. They should take responsibility for their failure. They should pay. Mqurice
