I provided some long treatments about terrorist groups a few years ago. In a nutshell it's this. The radicals believe they are on the Arc of God. All the Earth must be cleansed so that they can rebuild it according to their view of things. Its a true nutshell of thought because you can't crack their extremist shell, you must confront them and in many cases there is no resolution but to kill or be killed. I was the only person in the 90s on SI that I remember condemning the sanctions in Iraq while suggesting that our true and just target would have to be Saddam's regime. The rest of you seemed content with letting half a million children under 5 die from treatable disease and starvation... ala Albright "We think it's worth it." "I hear all kinds of Christians talking about Islam and it's problems. Ok. My sister tells me about the problems in her husband's family, they talk about the problems in the next community and those communities talk about the problems of California... etc. Christians clicking their tongues about those Muslims... c'mon now? Israel and Palestine are a special case. That's weird because I hear Muslims saying it everywhere I go. "Any Muslim who dares criticize Islam seems to be killed. And It is time Islam took control of the Killing and put a stop to it. This is true under despotic regimes. You aren't confusing geopolitical regions with what happens to Muslims elsewhere are you? I haven't seen any death sentences in the USA for these reasons.
