JDN, My Mother used a crepe myrtle branch that was as flexible as a bull whip, and left welts where ever it hit. If I had heavy clothes on, she made me drop my pants, and whipped the back of my legs, as well as the butt.

One time, I refused to eat my dinner because it had squash on the plate, and I looked at it like poison. My Mother told me to leave the table, and think about what I was going to get the next meal. When that time came around, it was the same plate, with the same food, that was cold. I had to either eat it or wait until the next meal, but I knew it would be that same damned plate, so it got eaten, even with me gagging at every bite.

My mom was pretty versatile in what she broke or bent on my butt, I think she still has a crooked bread pan to prove it. When I was about 5 years old, we had a couple of neighbor boys that thought it was fun running me back into the house. She took that a couple of times and then made it hotter on me inside than it was outside. Wasn't none of that complaining to the neighbors about their kids being little shits, it was get out there boy and take care of it. Hard lesson to learn at 5, but one well worth while.

The old man didn't have much to do in that area, but when he did it was rough enough to last 3 or 4 years before I needed another adjustment.

"If I misbehaved at a tender age my mother used a yardstick on me. When I got to the size were she kept breaking her yardsticks she got herself an 8 foot BULLWHIP and raised welts on my back."

That is most definitely child abuse. If I ever became aware of someone beating their children in such a manner I would call the authorities.

I wonder sometimes why right wingers seem to have such black hearts.

You have perhaps provided some insight to me.
