I will restate my argument, but not all the support (as detailed in previous posts).

Islam is indeed being hijacked by a small minority of extremists. These extremists are corrupting their religion for their own earthly gain. However, the percentage of Muslims who support terrorism is small. Additionally, the current hijacking of Islam is no different from previous attempts to use different religions for personal gain. There is nothing inherently 'evil' in Islam that does not also exist in Christianity; i.e. the ability to exploit either religion (amongst others) is there.
