Mary is not trying to persuade us. She’s trying to persuade herself. She is saying: Return to the natural size, will leave the US still bigger and better off than LATAM, Africa, S. E. Asia. And that still takes some time to happen. Problem is, the US state is too expensive. Washington is only affordable by the un-natural size. Returniong to natural size will leave a very costly state to be paid for. Therein lies the hurdle. All other states are cheap compared to to the US state. QUESTION: How the US state will be cut to be in line with the new narural size? Can’t spend 400 billion in defense!
