Both of them do things like that. The problem is that the business is so cut throat, most OEMs operate on a margin that supermarkets would turn up their nose at, the OEMs are deathly afraid of having something flop. So they just keeping doing the same old thing...

Apple computer is the tech company that seems the most successful and dedicated to growing beyond it's historical product boundries.

No question Apple has reinvented itself successfully numerous times since its creation.
