The problem at this point is that we have had several years of the most crooked government in the history of the United States -- some people made out like bandits, but the broader market is not well served by rampant corruption. Corruption is the primary political issue going forward. If the US does not get a handle on corruption in Washington, we will never be able to deal with economic, social and environmental issues. The current configuration is a big step -- but nowhere near where we need to be to clean up corruption. It is possible that we could see two more years of a bull market if it appears that the pervasive corruption of the past few years is finally going to be addressed.
