Dogs are no different then human babies and toddlers. They need a safe and secure place to stay when you aren't around, they need attention and they need to know what the rules are, the consequences when those rules are broken and they need lots of love and understanding.<g>

Just before I retired, I had to stay in a B & B in Juneau for a few months. The landlady had two big rottweilers. They were very intimidating to most people, but I took them for walks and sat on the stairs talking to them.

My landlady said when I was gone they slept in my room.
