LOL! (Funny... I was pretty sure that they were thinking they had squeezed all the political and propaganda advantage they could out of the situation of the hostages... and there was nothing left but down-side for them in it. :-) If they supposedly 'hated and feared him' SO MUCH... it SURE didn't seem to stop them from ordering the killing of our Marines in Lebanon a little later. (One of the stories floating around at the time was that they were not only pissed that we and the French were inserting ourselves into Lebanese affairs --- which they considered their zone of Shiite influence --- but they were also hopping mad that not all of the missiles and spare Phantom parts that were arranged for in the Iran/Contra deals were delivered. Little matter of Congress catching on and some of the deliveries going 'phlooey'.)
