Foreclosures: The details in that report are alarming.

According to RealtyTrac, there were 13,601 NODs sent in California in October. That is a quarterly rate of 40,000.

On a quarterly basis, since 1992 in California:
Record Low NODs: 12,145 Q3 2004
Average NODs/quarter: 32,653.
Record High NODs: 59,897 Q1 1996.

On an annual basis:
Record Low NODs: 52,674 in 2004.
Average NODs/year: 102,112.
Record High NODs: 162,597 in 1996.

IF there are 40K NODs in Q4 that would put 2006 at 106K for the year - already above the average and on pace for a possible record year in 2007.
