Wow... your illusions are running away with you. The article stated the following: When it comes to helping the needy, Brooks writes: "For too long, liberals have been claiming they are the most virtuous members of American society. Although they usually give less to charity, they have nevertheless lambasted conservatives for their callousness in the face of social injustice." The observation I believe is correct based on what I have seen here and how little the liberal posters admitted to giving when we had some catastrophes like the Tsunami. Their excuse for not giving is because their taxes were helping. I was disgusted bt their comments but they have a right to not give should they not wish to...it is their money. For it to be more than what it actually is. is your problem to deal with. So this article is just another in a long line of hollow attempts by the right to demonize the left for wanting balance of powers and a fair shake for the working class.
