Most of the Democrats want Dumbyass to continue the mess in Iraq so they can hang the Republicans like McCain with it in the 2008 elections. Already folks like McCain are being set up to look like fools. Even with the additional troops that McCain wants, all that it would result in is more killing - of US troops and Iraqi civilians. The end result in any case will be an Iraq that gets worse - by the year, by the month, by the day, by the hour.

While that may be electorally advantageous for the Democrats, it is up to the progressive wing (probably about 15% of the party) to force a total withdrawal in the interests of human lives.

That is why reinstating the draft is so important. If there is a draft, the ENTIRE nation will demand a total withdrawal.

Looks like to me they are waiting for the bi-partisan committee on Iraq to deliver their findings in December. Do you think it would be wise for them to trump the findings of this presidential commission? Democrats campaigned on change, and that thank god is what we are getting. Rumsfeld and "stay the course" are both gone.
