"I think it is possibly a human conceit to hope that morality is appropriately rewarded, when in fact injustice has a somewhat random character." I don't know any person who has said they expect to be rewarded in this life for their moral behavior. I have noticed that a small number of people notice and seek out moral people in business relationships. The random character of luck cannot be denied, nor can the fact that one makes their own luck.
