Good recipe.. However, 25 minute is too long to make rice.. I will post my short cut later..

I like Basmati Rice too. Here is how an Indian man told me to cook it. Boil the amount of water you want to contain the rice amount. When it boils, pour in the rice. Wait until all that white stuff rises to the top. Take it off the stove and drain it. Do this two times. Then the third time the ratio of water to the rice... boil..and then turn down the flame and let is steep...with lid on.

It comes out light and very palatable for me. I used to rinse it before cooking but this way is far better.
