When is someone going to make all them electronical gizmos water proof, like humpty dumpty potato chip bags? I got a GPS that floats. That was a smart move. Now I need an electronical camera that floats, a telephone that floats and works when you are 100 miles back in the bush, (what's wrong with geostationary satellite phone system PTT type walkie-talkie phones?) a computer that floats and is the size of two of my hands, and a pocket transit that levels itself and will take start shots and figure out azimuth to a fraction of a minute in less than a minute. And that has to float too. And it all has to cost less than 3 thousand bucks. And I need a watch that sets itself by satellite and I can use it as a stopwatch so that it starts from real UTC corrected time, takes infinite lap times that I can dump USB or serial to my mini computer, camera, or cell phone, and they all have mobile speech recognition software, or bluetooth one handed keyboard input, bar code recognition, and a field printer that is rain proof and prints waterproof ink, and runs on batteries. And yes, the GPS needs to do post processing, storing rinex psueudo range data on two frequencies so that it can work with a table of ephemeris corrections and get a point post facto taken under canopy to 10 centimetre accuracy in 5 minutes. I need that by next week. See what you can do. EC<:-}
