I would say dems abandoning Hillary and Lieberman makes the dems pretty far left.

Yes. So, I guess you are right. Since Pelosi is the speaker, and she is liberal and a Democrat, then the Democratic Party is liberal. Therefore the last election was a clear sign that liberalism is on the upsurge.

Of course, there are several logical fallacies in the above statements, but what the heck...
