That doesn't follow. Legal (or illegal) is often a matter of a good lawyer or good timing. Nothing that makes you a better person--or a worse a--hole.

That doesn't follow. I try to avoid the consequences of illegal activities even when I consider the activities to be innocuous and not morally deplorable. For instance, I consider smoking pot to be a morally neutral act, but I do not do it because it could result in legal consequences. Likewise, there are may tax issues which are not necessarily unethical but which nevertheless have severe consequences if breached. So no, Peter, I don't consider it logical that just because I consider certain laws to be unethical, that I should therefore infract them.

I admit that I sometimes do, however. I consider our seatbelt laws to be unethical and to reduce my survival chances. Therefore, I disobey them as often as I can get away with it.
