It would all make a lot more sense if they left the "white" out of the study.

I finally read the entire study. Its methodology and conclusions seem fine. In fact, the "Chris" article seems to rely on some of them but does not of course mention the "act white" aspects of it for fear of offending the PC crowd.

The problem with disregarding the article is that there are some indisputable truths to it. If your thinking is correct, there are only three possible explanations for blacks' failure in the employment arena--(1) pervasive institutionalized racism, (2) an average capacity lower than the national norm, or (3) a mixture of the two. All of these conclusions are incendiary. I don't accept any of them because they provide an easy out for the radical cultural changes blacks in America must make if they want to succeed on a more general scale.

Acceptance of responsibility for ones' future is hard when there are false bugaboos to be blamed. Blaming others for their racism or blaming "the system" is as as rejecting "acting white".
