"The Democratic Party didn't have to say that, but individual Democrats could have said it on their own." Not sure what you are referring to, but I am sure you can find individuals of either party that say damn near anything. Ir doesn't mean the rest of the party is in lockstep behind them. "The Primaries have turned every candidate into a subservient, vote scrounging lower life form." That is part of it. The other part is the cost of elections. Candidates need so much money that they need to give the impression that they appeal to enough people to win.
