This is going to be a long, protracted war. We must win at any cost or we will see our own cities go up in flames and the potential of 100s of thousands of our own people killed. I don't think many Americans understand the threat or realize the danger our nation faces.

I came in late to it, but I watched an article on CNN late last night about the ME crisis. It was really a futuristic scenario that foresaw oil wells burning, people being killed by dirty bombs and suicide murderers. It tried to take a look at what our world would look like if all of these things took place. There was total chaos in the world with people out of work, fuel costing way more than it does now.........they even predict congress calling in energy executives and drilling them about not being prepared.....what a laugh.......and whole societies brought to their knees

Maybe what we are doing in Iraq and Afghanistan won't matter. Maybe we should pull the pillow over our heads and pray that terrorism goes away, but I support President Bush and believe confronting this evil over there is the right choice. That it was/is inevitable that we do so.

The spread of democracy is increasing not decreasing among nations of the world, and the people of the ME do have the capability to think for themselves, make choices that enrich their lives as witnessed in past elections, and imo desire the ability to join core nations.

I know........I know......there are conflicting opinions and some people think and write that we have a "mess" but imo there is an agenda behind that assessment that is in direct conflict with the current agenda and that is just the way politics work.
