I posted to try to answer your question: "other than AS, Orky, et al. who is that dumb...??" Homestore was an example of a very 'smart' person (Piled Higher and Deeper :-) who simply thought that he 'deserved more' and that cheating the investing public and his company was an appropriate shortcut to use in fulfilling his goal. Interesting to see that this time it was a fairly hard 'slap' to punish the so-called 'white collar' crime. (Wonder if that will stick, or if this particular case turns out to be an outlier and it gets back to standard stuff like 'he's such an asset to his community' and 'he gives to all the right charities and is so nice to his kids...'?)
