I understand that people who want to seem to be compassionate by giving away other people's money actually do harm to the recipients of their "largess". This is one reason why recipients of unrequested assistance are so contemptuous of their "benefactors".

Regardless of how you perceive how other people are, they perceive however they do. There is a legal principle call something like Egg Shell Head. The person who got hit, but had a brittle head is not at fault for being hit. It behooves people to be wary of those who might take offense at out comments. I am by no means a perfect practitioner of consideration, but it is easy for me to not post the most inflammatory of my thoughts.
